High-waisted belts worn over t-shirts is a 90s throwback trend we never thought we’d see make a comeback. But after a corset-style update, an appearance on the runway and a little bit of help from the Kardashian lace-up waist belts are everywhere.
Prada brought these belts to our attention in their Autumn Winter 2016 catwalk show, when wide belts were worn laced-up over utility style coats.

More recently Kim Kardashian, and other members of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, have used belts to accentuate their tiny waists by wearing them over baggy white t-shirt dresses – this style even made it into the pages of Australian Vogue modelled by Kim.
This way of styling the belts is the trend that is sweeping the high street. Pretty much every store or online retailer you visit will have one of these on offer. Here are a few of the best.
This Missguided piece is a 2-in-1 garment giving you both the corset and t-shirt for £20. The corset is unattached so you can wear it with other things too!
ASOS have loads of different styles on their site including this real leather piece, which is more of an investment at £25.
This is another 2-in-1 this time from Boohoo at £18. You can get this in a couple of colour ways with the dress being black, white or khaki.
If you want to try the trend for cheap then this belt from eBay is the one for you with its small price tag of £2.99 and a quid for delivery. Available in black and two shades of denim.
